Beyoncé Brings the Bars on DJ Khaled’s “Top Off”

Beyoncé brings bars, swag, grown woman, and a nice mix of turn up for her verse on DJ Khaled’s “Top Off” the first single off his 11th studio album Father of Asahd.

First the East Coast got hit with a Nor’Easter on Friday, Saturday DJ Khaled hit us with another one!  Khaled combines Future, Jay-Z, and Beyoncé to bring a superstar trio for his latest hit.

Can I be honest here for a second? As soon as I heard Future on the track I wanted to turn it off. I’m not really a fan and I felt the hook was lackluster. Considering three music powerhouses linking together I expected more.

However I was NOT disappointed when Beyoncé floated right in with her melodic voice, and a nice mix of turn up for her verse. Of course her critics have something to say about the language, speculations about who she’s talking about. I see it differently; I see a woman, a wife, a mother of three saying I still know how to turn up when needed I’m still dope.

“I’m the only lady here, still the realest n-gga in the room/I break the internet, top two and I ain’t number two.”

Music heads think the bar can be a slight towards Kim K., some say it’s just a recycled bar from Drake, but what I will say is this; Beyoncé can get folks talking no matter what.  Honestly I think she had the best verse on the track. Overall it’s a solid, I defenitely would play it, but let’s get a remix and swap Future out.

The ever so calculated Ms. Carter has also announced the On The Run II Tour coming soon to a city near you.
